Romantis Group expands cooperation agreement with Russian ...

The Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) and Romantis Group have announced that they will further develop the existing collaboration based on RSCC satellite capacity and Romantis VSAT products and value-added services to spread to North and South America as well as the transatlantic area. The agreement was reached during a series of meetings at the Cabsat 2012 exhibition in Dubai and the Satellite 2012 trade show in Washington D.C.

?We are expanding our current commercial relationship with Romantis to also include the prospective Express-AM8 satellite capacity,? said RSCC Director General Yuri Prokhorov. ?We always look for innovative channels to make our capacity offerings stand out from the competition. Romantis effectively promotes and sells RSCC satellite capacity as a significant component of its turn-key solutions in the EMEA and now will also market the Express-AM8 capacity as a strategic RSCC partner in the American region.?

Romantis satellite bandwidth management services are enriched by the customer-centric service model that includes network planning, link budgeting, optimization of capacity utilization, online monitoring and troubleshooting systems as well as web-based booking tools for planning occasional-use transmissions. Romantis also developed customized packages combining the advanced IP-based UHP VSAT platform that complements powerful capacity on RSCC satellites designed both for DTV and VSAT applications. The packages include proven turn-key solutions for corporate networks, broadband access, SCADA and GSM backhaul.

?RSCC is one of the leading satellite operators and we are excited to be intensifying our relationship with them to add new premium capacity to our existing portfolio of competitive solutions already offered in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa via Express-AM44 from 11 degrees West,? stated Dr. Harald W. Stange, Managing Director of Romantis GmbH, the European headquarters of the Romantis Group.

?In 2011 Romantis expanded its operations in the Americas and Asia, establishing its offices in Canada. We have had an overwhelming response from the leading telecom carriers, TV broadcasters and enterprise customers across North America, Latin America and South-East Asia for our bundled capacity and VSAT hardware packages and expect to increase our presence in the region with the help of Express-AM8 and the other RSCC satellites,? commented Vagan Shakhgildian, President and CEO of Romantis, Inc.

The powerful Express-AM8 satellite is scheduled to be launched to 14 degrees West in the third quarter of 2013. The satellite will be equipped with six high-power Ku-band and two C-band spot beams providing superior coverage of Europe, Africa, the Middle East, North and South America. Express-AM8 is designed for high-quality video, voice and data services in both local and transatlantic networks.

Romantis UHP (Universal Hardware Platform) is industry?s first 100% software-definable networking product which supports VSAT networks of any size and topology such as TDM/TDMA Star and Mesh and Hub-less TDMA, MCPC/SCPC, and controlled (on demand) SCPC. The super-compact terminal UHP-1000 uses DVB-S2 signaling and is capable of processing data streams with throughput of up to 86 Mbps and routing IP packets at the rate of 28,000 packets per second.
